Hey newfish
09:08 AM - Wednesday, July 30, 2008 - by Tim
As I'm sure you've noticed by now, we finally rolled out a handful of the new site features we've been talking about.
The archive for the Sillies is now in place, so you'll be able to catch up on ones you miss without surfing through old newsposts.
Additionally, the archive systems for both comics got a little boost, in the form of the oft-requested "random comic" button, as well as the ability to set/load tags on comics, which will keep your place as you're reading through the archive and can't do it all in one sitting.
Our RSS feed should now also properly distinguish between comics, sillies and newsposts.
There are some other little bells and whistles in the pipeline that I'm sure you'll see here and there over the coming weeks. In the meantime, I've got a convention this weekend, and preparation has been keeping me swamped. I''ll make a separate newspost about it below.
ConnectiCon
09:53 AM - Wednesday, July 30, 2008 - by Tim
So I will be at ConnectiCon this weekend withsomeotherfools. Here's a rundown of what I'll have with me, and the best times to catch me.
I
will of course have the limited edition Commandments of Gaming poster
($10). Only 100 of them, so I will make 50 available on Friday, and 50
available on Saturday.
I
am also going to be raffling off ($1 per raffle ticket, one free ticket
with purchase of a poster) the original pencil artwork for the poster.
The artwork was done on an 11x14 piece of acid-free smooth Bristol
board.
And
if you are not attending ConnectiCon, you can stop trying to bribe me
for one of the posters. We will be offering them in a different size,
and in a non-limited variety in the store at some point in the future.
They won't be numbered, they won't be signed, but you'll be able to get
one.
I will also have with me some 11"x17" posters of the Players Pinup ($10), and some numerous 8.5"x11" art prints for a buck, which you can grab if you just want a pretty picture with a signature on it.
I
will have some copies of Volume One and Volume Three ($20ea), some
copies of Analog and D+Pad issue #1 and #2 ($3ea), and possibly a very
small number of Collector's Edition Season 1 DVDs ($20).
I don't
generally bring t-shirts to conventions anymore, since it's such a huge
pain carrying different designs and sizes, but I will have some surplus
Digital Overload 2008 tees that you can pick up for fairly cheap.
You
can find me in the Dealer's room, just look for the giant Ethan and
Lucas. Your best bet for catching me is in the afternoon, say between
1-4pm on Friday and Saturday. It's likely I'll be there at other times,
but 1-4pm is when I can practically guarantee to be there. Other times
I may be sleeping, drinking, or playing Warmachine. Or all three.
And
yes, I am hoping to get some Warmachine/Hordes in over the course of
the weekend. I won't be setting up to play at my table as I had
originally been thinking, the dealer's room will be just too hectic.
But I hope to steal away to the wargaming room and throw down a few
games. If you bring your stuff and you want to play, swing by and let
me know, we'll try and work something out.
I'll see you guys this weekend.

Figures I'd make a typo in the comic for when I'm away from a computer for four days. Thanks for the million-and-one emails though, hehe.
So don't be surprised if Monday's comic isn't up until Monday afternoon. I literally just walked in the door from ConnectiCon and I am exhausted.

Nevermind, powered through and whipped this up. I guess Blizzard will be putting an achievement system into Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 as well as World of Warcraft. That's fine with me, I'm a bit of an achievement whore.
ConnectiCon was outstanding, I'll make a post later. Right now I need some sleep in a serious way.
